Why is Your Engagement Ring Spinning?
Most rings are top heavy, especially engagement rings, so a ring that is too large ends up turning on your finger. What’s the point of having a ring when no one can see it?
If you have more prominent knuckles and skinny fingers you are more than likely affected by this terrible affliction, since the ring has to be large enough to fit over your knuckle.
Or you may be someone whose fingers constantly change size depending on the weather, so sometimes your ring may spin and other times you may find it hard to even move it.
What Can You Do?
First and foremost take your ring to a professional jeweler. They will determine the best course of action. Your finger should make contact with the entire inner surface of the ring; if it doesn’t more often than not your ring is the wrong size. In that case, easy fix. Pay the small amount it takes to get it sized, and then you won’t have to worry.
If you have more prominent knuckles your solution may not be just sizing. Sizing balls or sizing beads, there are a number of different names are the best way to keep your ring from spinning. A jeweler will solder two beads on the inside of the ring on the bottom portion. The beads rest on each side of your finger, allowing the ring to go over the knuckle while also preventing the ring from turning. Sizing balls can vary in size and can be taken out at any point by a jeweler.
